Visions 2008 -- Agriculture: Toward a Sustainable Future
May 01 and 02
Black Knight Inn, Red Deer, AB

This year, the Alberta Agricultural Economics Association annual conference includes sessions on biotechnology, biofuels, and wind energy; production risk; and sustainability issues around land and water. The keynote speaker will be Jerry Bigam of Kinnickinnick Foods, who will be talking on the future of the Alberta food processing industry. More detail is available on the AAEA website. Other conference activities will include a student poster competition and several meal events designed to facilitate participants' interaction with players from industry, government, and academia.

Early bird registration is in effect until April 25th.

The hotel is holding a block of rooms at a special conference rate ($107/night).
